ANIMEALS PET FOOD PROGRAM

Helping Seniors and Their Pets Thrive Together

AniMeals is a pet food program to help homebound seniors feed their beloved pets. Meals on Wheels provides pet food to ensure no senior has to choose between feeding themselves or their furry companion or share their own meals.

HOW IT WORKS

AniMeals delivers nutritious cat and/or dog food directly to the homes of eligible seniors, alongside their regular Meals on Wheels delivery food delivery.

AniMeals helps by:

  • Ensuring pets receive proper nutrition
  • Preventing seniors from sharing their own meals with pets
  • Keeping pets in loving homes and out of shelters

WHY IT MATTERS

At Meals on Wheels, we understand that for many seniors, pets are more than companions – they are family. They provide comfort, reduce loneliness, and improve overall well-being.

AniMeals helps by:

  • Maintaining companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting seniors in staying healthier and less isolated
  • Enabling seniors to continue caring for their pets with dignity

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY

To qualify for the AniMeals Program, individuals must:

  • Be an active participant of Meals on Wheels Home Delivered Meals program
  • Have a dog or cat

TO APPLY FOR ANIMEALS

New Applicants
If you are not currently a Home Delivered Meals program participant:

  • During your initial phone assessment with the Case Manager to apply for Home Delivered Meals, indicate that you are interested in the AniMeals Pet Food Program.
Current Home Delivered Meals Program Participants
If you are already receiving Home Delivered Meals:

  • Notify your driver or Case Manager that you would like to receive pet food.
